Code Workshop on Search Engine Optimisation

On Thursday 12th November, the second workshop on disseminating the European Code Against Cancer was held in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
The workshop focused on websites as the primary tool for online communication, and included a masterclass from award-winning digital consultant, Barry Adams (Polemic Digital), on search engine optimisation (SEO). SEO is the approach taken to achieve higher rankings for website pages on search engines such as Google.
The purpose of this presentation was to offer cancer leagues expert guidance about how they can better plan and implement their website communications to reach the target audience in an effective manner.
In addition, examples of good practice of communicating using online tools were presented by Gerry McElwee of Cancer Focus Northern Ireland.
