ECL was again offering a young professional's award at the 6th ECToH taking place 26-29 March 2014 in Istanbul for an outstanding junior tobacco control professional.

This ECL prize sponsored by the Dutch Cancer Society is to recognize and support young professionals who have advanced tobacco control including areas of research, advocacy, policy and practice. The award is to be granted to the most promising of applicants who have submitted an abstract to the conference. The award is to be used by the recipient to attend the next WCToH (World Conference on Tobacco or Health) in Abu Dhabi for travel, accommodation, etc in order to present their work and maintain their network at global level. The ECL supports the Award with a grant of €3.000.

The 2nd and 3rd runners-up received €500 each to offset costs related to their ECToH participation.

The winners were announced during the Opening Ceremony on Wednesday 26 March. And the winners are:

    Mr. Constantine Vardavas, Greece, 1st Prize,First winner  together with Joan Kelly, ECL President, and Prof. Tezer Kutluk, Chair, Executive Committee, ECToH 2014.

 

 

 

 

 

   Ms Tessa Langley, UK, 2nd Prize,Second winner  together with Joan Kelly, ECL President, and Prof. Tezer Kutluk, Chair, Executive Committee, ECToH 2014.

 

 

 

 

 

 

   Ms Vasiliki Kiparoglou, UK, 3rd PrizeThird winner together with Joan Kelly, ECL President.
