ECL relies mainly on the members to fund its activities, services and the running of the Secretariat.
In order to further develop its work, ECL welcomes financial support from individuals and organisations, with industry funding restricted to labelled activities. We do not accept support from companies that produce products deemed harmful for health (e.g. tobacco industry).
ECL has a policy of transparency whereby:
- accounts are available upon request;
- all budgets, expenditures and incomes are submitted to the members, via the yearly general assembly;
- accounts are reviewed by an independent auditor every year;
- each donor is entitled to know to how funds have been allocated.
