ECL provides a pan-European forum for tobacco control issues by facilitating the change of information and experience among cancer organisations in different European countries.

Luk Joossens, our Tobacco Control Advocacy Officer, provides timely information on pressing issues and news in regular emails and ECL Newsletter columns.

ECL also organises workshops and meetings to support capacity building in the leagues.  In 2008, ECL organised a successful tobacco control campaign workshop facilitated by the Global Dialogue for Effective Stop Smoking Campaigns. The next workshop will take place in Brussels at the end of 2009.

The Association of European Cancer Leagues implements activities which receive financial support from the European Commission under an Operating Grant from the European Union's Health Programme (2014-2020).
