Agata is Biology graduate with a keen interest in cancer epidemiology, prevention and control. During her studies, she specialised in molecular biology and researched DNA damage repair. Agata is currently a specialist in the Primary Prevention Unit of the Department of Epidemiology and Cancer Prevention at the Maria Sklodowska-Curie Institute-Oncology Centre in Warsaw. She is an investigator in the Prospective Urban Rural Epidemiology (PURE) study, which aims to characterise mortality and morbidity of the most common chronic diseases (including cancers) by identifying environmental risk factors (eg. lifestyle, diet and work), as well as factors determining the course of chronic diseases. Agata is always on the lookout for opportunities to develop her knowledge and acquire specific know-how that could be localised to the Polish context.
