Amil is currently in the sixth year of medical studies at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Banja Luka. He is the National Public Health Officer of the Standing Committee on Public Health (SCOPH) in Srpska Medical Students’ International Committee (SaMSIC), member of IFMSA. Amil is active in the field of public health since he joined SaMSIC in 2015, working on several projects focusing on non-communicable diseases, tobacco and HIV prevention and the importance of oral health. While working in SaMSIC he co-founded and coordinated the project “Healthsphere” (Healthy lifestyles and NCDs prevention), founded and coordinated the project “RedRibbonNight” (HIV/AIDS prevention), coordinated the project “National Anti-Tobacco Day” (anti-tobacco campaign), and supervised the project “Smile For Health” (marking the world oral health day).
Recently at the European regional meeting (EuRegME) of IFMSA in Austria, project “Healthsphere” and “RedRibbonNight” were ranked in the top 5 projects of the activity fair. Project “Healthsphere” has the main goal to cover all spheres of health, and focuses on prevention of non-communicable diseases (e.g. diabetes, cardiovascular disease, especially different types of cancer), it has gained international recognition through IFMSA, and it is planned to be organised in more than 10 European countries.
