Anna is ECL’s Advocacy & Project Manager responsible for coordinating ECL’s overall policy input into decision-making processes, representing the views of ECL and its member leagues to the EU institutions and building capacity among ECL’s membership, particularly in the areas of access to cancer treatments and support for cancer patients, survivors and carers. Currently, she is actively involved in shaping Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan.
With the ECL Access to Medicines Task Force, consisting of 20 representatives of national cancer societies, Anna advocates for increased affordability, accessibility and fair pricing of cancer medicines. Increased collaboration between European countries in pricing and reimbursement and increased transparency in medicine prices are key focus of her work.
She also coordinates the ECL Patient Support Working Group (PSWG), which consists of 25 patient care experts. The PSWG regularly publishes best practice guides related to development of patient services in order to humanise healthcare systems. Currently, the Group is focusing on breaking the taboo on sexuality issues for cancer patients and support for patients and carers at the workplace.
Anna acts as a liaison for the MEPs Against Cancer (MAC) Interest Group at the European Parliament. In the 2019-24 Mandate, over 130 Members of the European Parliament from different political groups and Member States will work together to improve cancer control through an health-in-all policies approach.
Anna is a member of the European Alliance for Responsible R&D and Affordable Medicines, Affordable Access to Medicines working group at the European Public Health Alliance (EPHA), patient advocate member of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), Young Gasteiner and an alumna of the European Health Parliament.
